Klangkuenstler and TD Entertainment Deliver Rave Revolution in Madrid

Picture the scene: an industrial warehouse filled with a sea of people, the air pulsing with thunderous techno as rapid bursts of white light cast a science fiction hue. This could be the apocalypse rave just before the end of days, where everyone has nothing to lose and is fully in sync with the moment. The orchestrator in the centre of this chaotic jubilance is German DJ and producer Klangkuenstler, whose collaborations with Christian Minke of TD Entertainment are redefining what it means to throw a party.

"He’s found in me someone he can develop crazy ideas with," says Christian Minke, the driving force behind TD Entertainment. "We’ve put together some setups that normal technicians might be afraid of."

Minke's expertise and adventurous spirit have supported Klangkuenstler in staging some of the most spectacular techno events across Europe. From the depths of Berlin’s underground to the sprawling IFEMA Madrid, all powered by the unparalleled Funktion-One sound system.

Klangkuenstler's approach to event production, like Minke’s to audio, is uncompromising. "Usually, artists and promoters are evaluating the costs and how to stretch budgets to make them go further," says Minke. "But here, we work with an artist who doesn’t care about budgets. For him, it’s about the concept, how it looks and how it sounds. This is a dream for us."

Christian Minke's journey into the pro audio world began in an unlikely setting: an art gallery in Wetzlar near Frankfurt. Initially running events alongside art exhibitions, his passion for electronic music soon took precedence. "Music and DJs were a huge part of the gallery, then I started a club called Technodisco back in 2014," he explains.

From those humble beginnings, Minke’s vision grew. He began organising larger events and investing in high quality sound and lighting equipment. "The step to putting together events for other festival organisers and promoters was an obvious move for me."

The evolution from smaller parties to large-scale techno spectacles is rooted in a steadfast commitment to superior sound. "We wanted to experience brilliant sound and we’ve been dedicated to this mission ever since," says Minke.

Klangkuenstler and TD Entertainment first connected in 2023 and the power of their collaboration was demonstrated in full force at the Outworld party in Madrid, where a staggering array of equipment was deployed, including 40 Funktion-One F121s, 16 F124 and 20 Evo 7T. "It’s all about the sound and this equipment really transports the essential elements of his music so well," says Minke.

An interesting aspect of Klangkuenstler’s live setup is his unique monitoring preferences. "In Madrid, we had 12 F121 behind him, then two PSM318 for normal monitoring, then the Evo 6SH from above," Minke explains. "He really wants to be in the centre of his sound to push it to another level."

Following the success of the Madrid event, Klangkuenstler and Minke have plans to collaborate again on the next installment of Outworld in Munich on 7th September. Minke is excited about experimenting with new ideas. "If you want to try out different setups, then sometimes this involves working longer, but you might also get surprised by what happens if you put the extra effort in," he says. "Every setup is different and bespoke and if you get it right, it gives you goosebumps. That’s what it’s all about."
