Café Del Mar Malta, one of the island’s most iconic beach clubs, has upgraded its sound system with a state-of-the-art Funktion-One installation, supplied and supported by trusted audio partner Futuretech. The new setup features Funktion-One’s latest technological developments, bringing an enhanced level of audio performance to the venue’s world-famous sunset sessions and high-profile events.

The 4,000-capacity open air venue, which looks out over the Mediterranean, required a sound system that would deliver dynamic and engaging audio on the dancefloor without disturbing its neighbours. Futuretech designed a custom installation comprising an Evolution X and F121 main system with PSM318 DJ monitors, plus Compact Range systems in the VIP area and surrounding zones.

“It’s all about giving our customers the best experience while keeping our surroundings respected,” said Gian Carlo Ellul, owner of Café Del Mar Malta. “Futuretech has been our trusted supplier for years. Our first Funktion-One system lasted 12 years and was still going strong, but this upgrade takes us to a new level. Futuretech is always there when we need them.”

As part of the global Café Del Mar franchise, the Malta location regularly hosts major events with world-renowned DJs, making sound quality a top priority. According to Ellul, the new system has already made a strong impression. “People and promoters ask for Funktion-One by name. The result was exactly what we expected and the feedback has been fantastic.”

Building on the legacy Café Del Mar Malta began with Futuretech and Funktion-One over a decade ago, the venue continues to define the sound of sunsets on the island.
